Whereas an application for the purpose of extending an Education Action Zone has been made to the Secretary of State with the consent of the governing bodies of every school participating therein.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 10(2) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998f1 the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Order:

1Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Southend Education Action Zone (Extension) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st December 2002.

2Interpretation

In this Order—

  • “Southend Education Action Zone” means the Education Action Zone established by the Southend Education Action Zone Order 1999f1.

3The extension of the Southend Education Action Zone

The Southend Education Action Zone is extended for a further period of two years beginning with 1st December 2002.
