The Secretary of State for Education and Skills, in exercise of the power conferred on her by sections 43(3), 43(7) and 43(8) of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001f1, hereby makes the following Order:

1Citation and Interpretation

This Order—

(a)

may be cited as the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001 (Commencement No. 1) (Amendment) Order 2001;

(b)

This Order shall come into force on 31st August 2001

2Citation and Interpretation

This Order applies only in relation to England.

3Citation and Interpretation

In this Order “the Principal Order” means the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2001f1.

4Amendment to the Principal Order

Paragraph 5 of the Principal Order shall be amended by the substitution of “1st January 2002” for “1st September 2001”.

Explanatory note

(this note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2001. It changes the commencement date of the provisions of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001 set out in Part II of the Schedule to that Order from 1st September 2001 to 1st January 2002.
