LENGTHS OF HIGHWAYS BECOMING TRUNK ROAD

The lengths of highways becoming trunk road are the A6055 eastern and western roundabouts and the length of the A6055 connecting those roundabouts at Junction 51 of the A1(M) Motorway (Leeming Interchange), in the District of Hambleton in the County of North Yorkshire (as shown by the hatching on the Plan).

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

The purpose of this Order is to authorise the Secretary of State to impose trunk road status on the lengths of highways described in the Schedule to this Order.

Two roundabouts have been constructed on either side of the A1(M) Motorway at Junction 51 at Leeming, which together form a “dumbbell roundabout” arrangement at this grade separated junction under the A1(M). In order to take responsibility for managing and maintaining the entire interchange, the Secretary of State will become the highway authority for the highways described in the Schedule to this Order
