Article 1 Title, commencement and interpretationI1

This Order may be cited as the Beef (Emergency Control) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 29th March 1996.

In this Order—

• “the 1991 Order” means the Food Safety (Northern Ireland) Order 1991; and

• “meat” means any part of the carcase of an animal intended for human consumption.
