Section 6 Short title, extent and commencement.

(1)

This Act may be cited as the Civil Evidence Act 1972.

(2)

This Act shall not extend to Scotland or Northern Ireland.

C1(3)

This Act, except sections F1. . . 4(2) to (5), shall come into force on 1st January 1973, and sections . . . 4(2) to (5) shall come into force on such day as the Lord Chancellor may by order made by statutory instrument appoint; and different days may be so appointed for different purposes or for the same purposes in relation to different courts or proceedings or otherwise in relation to different circumstances.
