Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations revoke, except for Northern Ireland, regulation 9 (Exemption from sections 19 to 21 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 for certain educational services) of the Disability Discrimination (Services and Premises) Regulations 1996. Regulation 9 of the 1996 Regulations exempted certain specified educational services from sections 19 to 21 of the 1995 Act (discrimination in relation to goods, facilities and services). The exempted services included services provided by local education authorities (education authorities in Scotland), activities provided by voluntary organisations, and research facilities and assessments at relevant establishments (defined in sub-paragraph (2) of that regulation).
