Paragraph 1

In this Schedule—

• “appropriate authority” means—

  1. (a)

     in relation to a community, foundation or voluntary school, a community F1... special school or a maintained nursery school, the school's governing body or, if the school does not have a delegated budget, the F2local authority, and

  2. (b)

     in relation to a school falling within section 28(2)(d), the proprietor of the school;

• “inspection” means an inspection under section 28.
