Article 16 Contribution from the general budget of the European Union

The ESDC shall receive an annual or multi-annual contribution from the general budget of the European Union. That contribution may cover, in particular, costs of supporting training and education activities and the costs of national experts seconded by Member States to the ESDC and up to one contracted staff member.

The financial reference amount intended to cover the expenditure of the ESDC during the period from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021 shall be EUR 2 055 156.

The financial reference amount intended to cover the expenditure of the ESDC for subsequent periods shall be decided by the Council.

Following the decision by the Council as referred to in paragraph 2, a financing agreement with the Commission shall be negotiated by the Head.
