Article 1 Subject matter and scope

This Regulation lays down:

1. (a)

   F2the public and animal health conditions and certification requirements for the introduction into F3Great Britain of consignments of raw milk, dairy products, colostrum and colostrum-based products;

2. (b)

   the list of third countries from which the introduction into F4Great Britain of such consignments is authorised.

F5This Regulation shall apply without prejudice to any specific certification requirements laid down in other F6United Kingdom agreements with third countries.

In this Regulation:

• — “appropriate authority” means the Secretary of State (in relation to England), the Welsh Ministers (in relation to Wales) and the Scottish Ministers (in relation to Scotland); but the “appropriate authority” is the Secretary of State if consent is given by:

  1. (a)

     in relation to Wales, the Welsh Ministers;

  2. (b)

     in relation to Scotland, the Scottish Ministers;

• — “third country” means any country or territory other than the British Islands.
