Article 2 Scope

This Regulation shall apply to animals of the avian species.

However, it shall not apply to:

1. (a)

   poultry;

2. (b)

   birds imported for conservation programmes approved by the F1appropriate authority in the country of destination;

3. (c)

   pet animals F2subject to relevant legislation, accompanying their owner;

4. (d)

   birds intended for zoos, circuses, amusement parks or experiments;

5. (e)

   birds destined for bodies, institutes or centres approved F3in accordance with legislation;

6. (f)

   racing pigeons which are introduced to F4Great Britain from a third country where they are normally resident and then immediately released with the expectation that they will fly back to that third country;
