Section 8 Interpretation, construction, citation and commencement.

(1)
In this Act “the principal Act” means the M1Merchant Shipping Act 1894.
(2)
This Act shall be construed as one with the Merchant Shipping Acts 1894 to 1964.
(3)
This Act may be cited as the Merchant Shipping Act 1965, and the Merchant Shipping Acts 1894 to 1964 and this Act may be cited together as the Merchant Shipping Acts 1894 to 1965.

This Act shall come into operation on such day as Her Majesty may by Order in Council appoint.
