Article 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

These Rules may be cited as the Patents (Amendment) Rules 2005, and shall come into force on 1st October 2005.

In these Rules—

• “the 1995 Rules” means the Patents Rules 1995^f1;

• “the Fees Rules” means the Patents (Fees) Rules 1998^f2.

Unless the context otherwise requires, a reference to a numbered rule or Schedule is a reference to a rule of, or a Schedule to, the 1995 Rules.
