Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Police (Property) Regulations 1997 (“the 1997 Regulations”).
Section 77 of the Police Reform Act 2002 applied the Police (Property) Act 1897 to the National Crime Squad. These Regulations make a number of consequential amendments to the 1997 Regulations. References to the Powers of Criminal Courts Act 1973 have been replaced with references to the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000 which repealed and consolidated the 1973 Act.
