Article 19 Meetings generally and noticeI1
Scotland
In fixing the venue for a meeting, the postal administrator shall have regard to the convenience of the persons who are to attend and the meeting shall be summoned for commencement between 10.00 and 16.00 hours on a business day, unless the court otherwise directs.
Subject to F2Rule 29, the postal administrator shall give not less than 14 days’ notice of the venue for the meeting to every person known to the postal administrator as being entitled to attend the meeting.
The postal administrator shall also publish notice of the venue for the meeting in the Edinburgh Gazette and in such other manner as the postal administrator thinks fit to ensure the meeting comes to the attention of any persons who are entitled to attend.
Any notice published under paragraph (4) shall be published not less than 14 days before the meeting.
Any notice under this Rule shall, in addition to the standard content, state—
the venue fixed for the meeting;
the purpose of the meeting;
the persons who are entitled to attend and vote at the meeting;
the effects of F3Rule 30 and of the relevant provisions of Rule 32; and
in the case of a meeting of creditors—
that proxies may be lodged at or before the meeting and the place where they may be lodged; and
that claims may be lodged by those who have not already done so at or before the meeting and the place where they may be lodged.
With the notice given under paragraph (3), the postal administrator shall also send out a proxy form.
In the case of any meeting, the court may order that notice of the meeting be given by public advertisement in such form as may be specified in the order and not by individual notice to the persons concerned. In considering whether to make such an order, the court shall have regard to the cost of the public advertisement, to the amount of the assets available and to the extent of the interest of creditors or any particular class of them.
