The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 132(1) of the Land Registration Act 1925f1, and with the concurrence of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Order:

1Title, commencement and interpretation
This Order, which supersedes the Land Registration (District Registries) Order 2000f1, may be cited as the Land Registration (District Registries) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 2nd January 2002.
In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires:

“district land registry” means a district registry of the Land Registry within the meaning of section 132 of the Land Registration Act 1925;

“the Schedule” means the Schedule to this Order.
2District Land Registries
The district of each district land registry shall comprise on and after 2nd January 2002 the administrative areas specified opposite its name in column 2 of the Schedule.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order, on 2nd January 2002, supersedes the Land Registration (District Registries) Order 2000 and transfers responsibility for the registration of titles in Corby, East Northamptonshire, Kettering and Wellingborough from the Peterborough District Land Registry to the Leicester District Registry.
This Order otherwise leaves unaltered the districts of the following District Land Registries:
