Section 9 Interpretation.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—

• “local authority” means the council of a county, county borough, F1London borough, F2district or parish, and the common council of the city of London F3and The Greater London Council;

• “voluntary organisation” means any person or body of persons, whether corporate or unincorporate, carrying on, or proposing to carry on, an undertaking otherwise than for profit.
